The first three months of our School of September kick off has been action packed! As we inch our way closer to the archery elk seasons throughout the west, I wanted to offer a sort of summary of the content for easy access. We still have more SOS episodes coming, but this is going to be the starting point.

Episode one was fantastic. The ElkNut Paul Medel joined me and as usual, did not disappoint. His passion for hunting elk and teaching others shines in this episode. We discuss calling techniques and strategies that any hunter can use in the field. As with all of the School of September episodes, be sure to have your bugle tube handy while listening! Make sure to download the ElkNut App from Got Game Tech on any device. Listen to Paul’s episode below:

Next, Dirk Durham joins me in The Broken Tines Studio for Episode 2. Dirk is wildly successful in the elk woods, even with a shoulder injury he manages to notch his tag! Dirk has appeared in several episodes with Born and Raised Outdoors, works with Phelp’s Game Calls, manages his own elk hunting brand as The Bugler, and is a part of the newest elk hunting resource called The Elk Collective. This episode is packed with elk hunting insight, calling strategies, and loads of laughs with Dirk’s contagious personality! Check it out here:

Last but not least, the third installment for The School of September Series is with Corey Jacobsen. Corey is the founder of and the University of Elk Hunting program. You can watch Corey in action on his YouTube series Destination Elk and listen to his Elk Talk Podcast with Randy Newberg. Corey is a wealth of knowledge and is always willing to share his experience with all hunters. Use promo code Huntsman when you sign up for University of Elk Hunting for $20 off! As with all of them, keep your bugle tube handy!

Oh and stand by, there’s more to come before September is upon us! I have confirmed with more big names in the elk hunting game to join me on the show so stay tuned.

The idea with this bonus series is to offer new and experienced elk hunters fresh insight and perspectives from successful hunters. Take each episode and listen with the intent to glean as much information as you can. I recommend taking a few key points from each episode that seem to strike a nerve with you and mold it into your own hunting style.

Lastly, are you outfitted for this season?? It’s coming quick! If you’re in the market for high performance hunting apparel or new game calls, It would be greatly appreciated if you’d consider our show sponsors. The Western Huntsman only partners with the best; our sponsors and products are vetted, tested, and scrutinized before we’re comfortable recommending them to you. Enjoy the discounts they offer to our listeners and stay tuned!
